Oh my goodness, God is so good!
Do you ever just sit back and watch Him work...He blows me away every single time.

Teens Rock!!
Okay, I am going to take some time to brag on the teens at RE!! My, oh my are they awesome!!
I will post later today on the prayer journey that I helped with this weekend, but first you must know about some people who made it an awesome time for the kids (besides, of course, our children's minister who spent countless hour investing in it :) ).
Six of the teens from our church, ranging from through all of the high school grades came to help on the trip. When you normally think of teen helpers, you may think of very little help and possibly a hindrance. Let me tell you...these kids were awesome!!
The girls that went were so fun to be around! The kids loved them to death and really enjoyed the fact that they were there. The two girls made a point to spend time with each girl. During worship, they would sit with the kids and participate with them. Never, ever, ever did I hear either one of them complain or speak ill of any of the children they were there to help with!
The guys that came just knocked my socks off! All four of them were so quick to jump in and help with things. They paid so, so, so much attention to the younger boys there. I don't think they ever got a break from boys climbing on them, talking to them and playing with them. Again, I never heard them complain.
All six of them made a point to let every child they passed, from our church or not, know that they were noticed and special. There was an awesome water slide there for everyone to play on. The teen boys were really having fun sliding on it. On little girl was really upset that she had to stand in line and wait so long. I saw one of our teens stop her and give her a spot in front of him. They helped kids remember medicine, cleaned up, encouraged car sick kids and generally made it an even better weekend than it would have been without them. I can say with certainty that their attention to the younger children changed the path of some of those kids lives. I feel so blessed that I was able to see it!
Now let me tell you how those kids worshipped!! Boy howdy those teens were raising the roof with praise! It was one of the neatest things I have ever seen. The more that the teens praised, the more the younger kids followed. Finally, there was a room of over 100 kids singing and praising at full force! Indescribable!!
If you are a parent of, or happen to know the teens that went on RoadMap with RE, you should tell them how awesome they are, because they truly, through the power of the Lord, rocked some kids' world this weekend!!

Unfailing Love

This morning I was sitting outside on my back porch spending some time alone with the Lord. I have really enjoyed doing this lately, especially now that we have a short fence and I can see the neighborhood and visit with neighbors that come out to leave for work.
Back to this morning...I was sitting there enjoying a nice breeze and watching the limbs of the willow tree move in the wind when I was just overcome with gratitude and awe of the amazing day my Lord has given me today. The sky is so sharply blue in contrast to the small, passing, white clouds. The bright green leaves of the trees and grass just makes it more amazing!
I spend such a small amount of time in my life just looking at the love that God has poured out for me each day. I get so caught up in the "stresses" of life that I have chosen to bring on myself that I too often ignore the love that is oozing, no...pouring, out for me each day!
I really wish I could describe for you the feeling that all of this gave me this morning. It was one of such amazement! I can compare it to the first time I saw the girls observe and touch a dolphin. Their excitement just made me cry. Today was like that for me, it was like seeing something so extra special for the first time!!
Now, you want to know something even more cool!!???!!! I was so thankful for this time and this gift that I decided to read a Psalm instead of my normal study. The Lord laid on my heart to read Psalm 33. You wanna know what Psalm 33 :5b says????
"the earth is full of his unfailing love."
How totally cool and fantabulous is that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh Father, help me to see Your love that is right in front of my eyes!!
I would love to hear from you about how you observed God's unfailing love today!!

Mutter, Mutter, Mumble, Mumble
Wow! I can't believe that it has been two weeks since I have updated! For someone so busy, I can't think of any big news to share :) I took the girls to San Antonio last week. We had studied the Alamo and I thought it would be cool to go and see it. We had a great time!
You know what, I have been having a great week! Praise God for the great weather. I have to say though, there is something weighing heavily on my mind. I am stepping into a new position in our co-op. It is one that carries a great deal more responsibility than I have had previously. Frankly, I am terrified!
I KNOW that God put me in this new position. I have no doubts about that and it is what I cling to. But I am not sure I have ever felt so inept and inadequate! I see how wonderfully the ladies that are in the positions now are so able to keep to task, yet show so much mercy. Their ability to make Godly decisions amazes me. We had a meeting today and I sat there and listened to the head honcho speak about considering things that had never even crossed my mind! Such grace and mercy and thoughtfulness, yet firmness and confidence!
I MUCH prefer to do things that I feel able and confident to do. I am seeing that it is harder for me to rely on God's confidence and strength than my own. As I sit with my mouth open waiting for something intelligent or wise to come out, I am crying out to Him to fill my mouth because my head draws a blank!!
I usually don't attempt things that I don't think I can be successful at so this is really new for me. The only confidence I can have in this is that He called me to do it. I know that should be enough, but my doubt creeps in a lot. I continue to pray that God will push those thoughts out, and I know He will.
Oh, but the sweet people that I will serve! To just be able to share in so many peoples lives is so exciting. Oh, Lord please give me wisdom and discernment! Please fill my mouth with your will and not my words! When success and glory come at the end, it will only come from you!!
Praise God that He gives strength to the weak and inadequate!!! I am waiting to mount those eagles' wings!!
