And The....

2008 Science Fair Winner in the High School Category for C. and D. County Homeschool District is....

Hooray Brianna!!!

She now advances to the TI regional fair in March where there is scholarship money at stake!! The judges loved her project and the amount of research that she did. They offered some great tips as to how to make her analysis better before regionals.

She is thrilled as are we. I am so proud of the hard work, thought and dedication she has put into this!!

WooooHooooo!!

Wow. Your daughter is clearly a freak. Shame on you for isolating her from normative pursuits. Whether you teach her, or a school does--or doesn't--has no effect on her intelligence. You can hardly alter her genetically derived IQ, and so making her waste away her childhood with academic endeavors is ludicrous. Let her go play now, and let her wait until she's older to be consumed by thought. How's that sound for a happy childhood? p.s. My IQ is beyond quantification; MENSA is literally a joke to me, so I hope you do consider what I'm telling you because it's not everyday that a genius stops by your blog randomly. I have photographic memory and perfect pitch too if you need more qualifications of which to be dubious. And if you must home school her then teach yourself logic so that you can teach her. First linguistic logic, and then mathematical logic, and so on. Don't assign a personality to your daughters; don't rob them of the singularity of the human experience, and don't let emotion and hubris consume the choices you make for your children.

WHAT THE JUNK? You get the weirdest comments on your blog, girl. My advice- ignore the previous comment, and celebrate your daughter's wonderful success! The previous comment was made by someone that does not know you or your family. (or so they say) I know you all and I know how much Brianna enjoys learning and I am so proud of her. I recall making those same kinds of tri-fold thingies and going to those contests as a girl in middle school, so I am not sure why someone would say this is abnormal??? Everyone does it, although not everyone does it as well as Brianna. She put a lot of time and thought into her project and is being rewarded! Yea for her!

Becky beat me to it. :)

And why would I not be surprised if the first commenter didn't have children of his own? Besides, he's from Germany, where homeschooling is illegal. I doubt he could understand it if he tried.

Congratulations Brianna! I am glad that you did not "monkey around" with your science project :) I love chimpanzees and would love to hear what your hypothesis was and what conclusions you made. You go girl!
